Every time I need new sneakers or extra golf balls I frantically search for those sometimes hard-to-find printable Sports Authority coupons, and once I have them I let my wife know I'm going out to the store, telling her I'll be back soon. She knows better; she's aware my trip to SA is more than just to buy something, it's a genuine manly escape for me! Sometimes I take my 5 year old son for the male bonding thing fathers instinctively share with their sons, and I must admit I have a great time shopping with him looking in the different sections.
But there's something about going to the store alone that allows me to enter some type of almost subconscious zone where I tune everything out and slide form section to section looking at all the latest products for a couple of hours. I must look like a wolf foaming at the mouth when i get to the golf apparel which, in my hometown Sports Authority, sits right there to the right just after you enter. Maybe that's why a female senior citizen looked at me the other day with a frightened look in her face as I stayed in golf ball aisle trying to figure out if I should go for the Titleist or generic balls! Of course I picked the good ones and although I didn't have any printable Sports authority coupons on me, the price was still pretty low.
Anyway, once I'm done with the golf stuff I continue moving down the aisles and the next stop is the athletic shoes section. I go crazy here looking at all the latest shoe models and I always spend a fair amount of time planning which ones I'm going to buy as soon as the raggedy ones on my feet completely wear out.
Like clockwork, my wife calls me every hour on the hour to see what I'm doing and when I'm coming home. My excuse to her is always the same one; "Honey, I've got a $25.00 off coupon, give me chance to look through the racks and aisles, and I'll be home soon. It's gotten to the point where these printable Sports Authority coupons are like a license for me to leave the house without hearing my wife nag me about not spending time with her and the family.
Most guys consider their dogs their best and faithful friends but for me, it's Starbucks and Sports Authority!
